Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a video conference with Collectors on Saturday and reviewed the progress achieved in the Kantivelugu and Aarogya Mahila programmes.

The issues regarding paddy procurement, implementation of GOs 58 and 59, oil palm cultivation, the examinations planned by the TSPSC, and supply of fertilizers were also reviewed during the video conference.

The Chief Secretary asked collectors to regularly visit the Kanti Velugu and Aarogya Mahila camps and suggest measures to strengthen service delivery. She observed that as these health initiatives have a mass interface, there is scope for improvement and thus officials should engage in improving the service delivery system.

On paddy procurement, CS said that all procurement centres should be fully functional and payments should be made to farmers on time.

Collectors were also told to complete the enumeration of crop loss caused due to the unseasonal rains in the months of March and April. CS wanted the balance pattas pertaining to GO: 58 be distributed in the next couple of days, while the distribution of conveyance deeds in respect of GO59 will be taken up on mission mode and completed by May 15.

The Chief Secretary asked Collectors to suggest innovative methods to propagate oil palm cultivation in the state. As the plantation will start in the next 40 days, she directed them to review at the district level to kickstart the process.  She noted that as saplings are available, this year’s target can easily be surpassed.

The Chief Secretary asked collectors to ensure that there is adequate supply of all types of fertilizers such as DAP, Urea etc in the district. She wanted collectors to review the receipt of the stock and also take steps to transfer the stock to retail godowns.
