Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau has alerted the public on 5S for safe Internet banking. Following the rise in the number of cases, the Cyber Bureau said each S stands for protecting from online scam or fraud. These are S- for suspicious link alerts, S- for strong and unique passwords, S-for software updates, S-for secure websites and applications and S- for secure network.
The suspicious link has been among the top issue of most complaints, they also ignore to come out and spread awareness that they lost money by clicking a message link. They follow a random number’s sending link for a lottery or quick payments and transact money but get nothing at the end, said the police.
Strong and unique passwords; There are already instructions from the banks concerned that passwords must be protected and changed from time to time, so this helps to stay safe.
The police also said that software updates also indirectly get viruses into the system and frauds can be reduced by following the links that are being clicked.
