District Collector Prashanthi expressed anger over the officials on the poor sanitation works and warned of action if corrective measures were not taken.

The Collector held a meeting virtually with the officials on sanitation, SDG survey, ‘Jagananna Thodu’, and other issues here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, she directed officials to take steps to improve sanitation in the district. She said that heaps of garbage could be seen anywhere in the district and instructed the officials to lay special focus on sanitation.

The Collector angered the Veeravasaram MPDO over poor sanitation. The sanitation works should be tangible, she told the officials. The garbage from the dumping yards is falling on the road and spreading all over causing severe inconvenience to the people, she said.

She asked the officials to select three villages in each mandal to send the names for PM Jal Jeevan Mission and ‘Swachh Bharat’ awards in a prescribed format. The survey on sustainable development should be completed expeditiously, she told them.

The focus should be laid on the areas where ‘Yanadula, Yerukula, and Chenchu’ community people live, she directed the officials. The officials apprised the Collector that so far the SDG survey had been conducted in 4,07,341 houses out of 6,18,733. The Collector told them to complete the KYC process for ‘Ayushmanbhava’ beneficiaries.

DPO M Nagalata, DLDO Appa Rao, DMHO Dr. D Maheshwara Rao, and DRDA PF MS Venugopal were among those who were present.
