De-reserve Urdu teacher posts, fill vacancies via DSC: Akbaruddin

The AIMIM Floor Leader in the Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, urged the Congress government on Saturday to de-reserve Urdu language teacher posts through DCS, Telangana’s direct recruitment system, and called for the filling up of all Urdu teacher posts.
During his address to the Assembly, Akbaruddin thanked the former BRS government for making Urdu the second language in TS. However, he criticized the Congress for failing to mention anything about Urdu in its manifesto. “The KCR government gave the language a higher rank but it was not given its due,” he said.
Urging the government to do justice to the language, he said that the state should de-reserve Urdu teaching posts for SCs, STs and BCs who do not know the language through the direct recruitment policy.
“I was hoping that your party’s think tank would suggest including Urdu in your manifesto, but unfortunately that did not happen. However, I am optimistic that you, Chief Minister Revnath Reddy, will consider this,” he said.
He urged the Congress government to conduct all competitive exams in the state in Urdu as well as Telugu and English.
“All departmental promotion exams and recruitment exams must be conducted in Urdu as well as it is the state’s second language,” he said.
