Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC cell national president and MP K Lakshman has alleged that democracy is being destroyed in Andhra Pradesh and the ruling YSRCP leaders are indulging in massive corruption.
Addressing a press conference, flanked by State president Somu Veerraju, State general secretaries Vetukuri Suryanarayana Raju and Bitra Satyanarayana, here on Sunday, K Lakshman found fault with the Jagan Reddy headed AP government for its anti-BC policies.
“Jagan Reddy headed government is not following democratic values. The ruling party leaders are working only to earn money through corrupt practices. The AP government has owned the Central government-sponsored welfare schemes,” he alleged.
Appreciating the Central government, Lakshman said that the world is looking to Modi’s leadership as he is taking many efficient steps to make a strong India and make a robust economy. The Central government took up massive development programmes and infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh by spending Rs 10,000 crore, he said.
“The Central projects have come to a halt in AP since the Jagan Reddy-headed state government has failed to allocate lands and provide needed infrastructure. The AP government has also failed to earmark adequate funds as its share for various projects being constructed by the Central government in AP,” Lakshman criticised.
BJP is providing financial assistance to 70 lakh farmers in the state. Under the Kisan Samman Fund, the BJP-led Centre had deposited cash directly into the accounts of farmers, he claimed, adding that the BJP is committed to the welfare of the poor. Regional parties in the country are doing politics for family interests, he lashed out.
The Centre has released a Rs 6,138 crore grant to AP since 2021. Due to the wrong policies and inefficiencies of the Jagan Reddy-headed state government, the unemployed are migrating to other places seeking jobs. The Centre has allocated 25 lakh houses to Andhra Pradesh but the state government could construct only six lakh houses,” he pointed out. State executive member Tapana Chowdary was among those who were present.
Later, addressing an OBC meeting held in the Indoor stadium here on Sunday, K Lakshman deplored that grave injustice is being meted out to the underprivileged sections in the two Telugu states.
He slammed that the BCs are being used as vote banks by the ruling parties. The YSRCP government had come to power with the support of the OBCs but after coming to power the OBCs were ignored. In Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao assured making a Dalit leader as Chief Minister of the state but he betrayed them later.
He cited that Narendra Modi who belongs to OBC has risen to the Prime Minister’s post by pursuing ideals and discipline. The Centre is spending thousands of crores of rupees for the welfare of BCs and OBCs, he claimed. The BJP has made Dwoupadi Murmu who belongs to the tribal community the president of India, he said State president Somu Veeraju, state general secretaries Vetukuri Suryanarayana Raju, Bitra Shivannarayana, state executive members Tapana Chowdary, district president Kurella Jyothi Krishna, former MLA Chinnam Ramakotaiah and Janasena Eluru in-charge Appala Naidu were among those who were present.
