The Director of the Consortium for Education Communication (CEC) Prof JB Nadda stated that digital education is the only way to achieve new educational goals. The CEC, New Delhi, is organising the 24th CEC UGC Educational Film Festival 2023 from April 27 to 29 in Osmania University (OU).
During a press meet in this regard, Prof Nadda explained that the central government aims to increase the national average enrollment ratio of students from 27 to 50 per cent by 2035, which is only possible through a digital education system.
Renowned Telugu Director Shekhar Kammula, an alumnus of Osmania University, will be the chief guest at the programme to the UGC CEC UGC Film Festival to be held at Tagore Auditorium. The screening of documentaries will be held at OU Distance Education Centre Auditorium.
The award-winning films selected for citation will be screened for three days to increase awareness among students and other stakeholders. Films winning awards in 12 categories will receive cash prizes ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh, certificates, and trophies. A certificate will also be given to the films selected for citation.
The CEC will provide all the educational material at its disposal in 12 regional languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Urdu, Punjabi, and Odia. The responsibility of translation into 12 regional languages has been entrusted to the CEC under Matrubhasha Abhiyan.
Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dandeboina Ravinder thanked CEC Director Professor Nadda for giving OU the opportunity to organise the CEC – UGC Documentary Film Festival at OU. He said that there is a festive atmosphere in the university and this event adds to the Foundation Day celebrations.
