Unable to bear the death of his wife by suicide, a 35-year-old man ended his life by consuming pesticide at Husnabad in the district on Sunday night.
Bollampalli Shayamsundar, who hailed from Nedunur village in Karimnagar district, married Sarada here a year ago. She returned to her parents’ home in Husnabad seven months ago as the conflict between husband and wife became more frequent. She reportedly committed suicide by hanging at her parents’ home a few days ago.
Distressed over his wife’s death, Shyamsundar came to Husnabad and consumed pesticide at the place where his wife committed suicide and ended his life. He died by suicide on the day the couple got married.
A pall of gloom descended as Shyamsunder’s death by suicide became known. The police arrived on the scene and shifted the body to Husnabad Government Hospital for post-mortem.
