BJP State president Somu Veeraju has said that the distribution of tablet computers to school students is part of the Central government’s Samagra Sksha Abhiyan programme.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday flanked by BJP state affairs co-in-charge Sunil Dehodhar, Somu Veerraju said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the distribution of tablet computers to the school students a few days ago coinciding his birthday.
“The distribution of tablet computers to the students is part of the Central government’s Sarva Sikha Abhiyan programme and the credit for the distribution of tablets should go to the Central government. But Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy falsely claimed credit for the same,” he flayed.
Somu Veeraju made it clear that the Centre gives Rs 4,000 crores to the state governments every year to distribute tablet computers, books, provide toilet facilities in schools and construct new buildings. Veerraju claimed that the state government was using Central funds for renovating government schools under the Nadu-Nedu programme. He clarified that including the Kapu community in the EWS is a state government subject.
The BJP state president expressed anger over the state police alleging that they were working in a biased manner. The police are working in favour of the ruling party. The police are giving trouble to those who oppose the wrong policies of the state government, he lashed out.
“The law and order situation has deteriorated completely in Andhra Pradesh. The police should work sincerely and honestly to maintain law and order,”, he said.
Somu Veerraju also criticised Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his policy on the BCs. Reservations are not being implemented for many BC community people in Telangana state, he criticised. BJP state secretary Nagotu Ramesh Naidu, district BJP president Sirasanagandla Srinivasa Rao and other leaders were present.
