Seven students and a teacher were injured when the roof of a primary school building caved in at Halvi village in Kouthalam mandal on Friday.
According to official sources, renovation works were being carried out at the school under the ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme. As part of the works, some classrooms were demolished with a JCB.
Peels off a roof fell on the students who were in another classroom. As many as seven students and a teacher were injured in the incident and they were taken to hospital. The injured students and teachersare said to be out of danger.
The Education and police officials visited the school.
