Do not resort to extreme step fearing loan app agents: DGP

DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy has asked the people not to take extreme steps fearing harassment of loan app money lenders. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the DGP said that he reviewed various cases in the district, adding that the crime had come down considerably.

Steps were taken to rehabilitate those who were resorting to brewing illicit liquor in rural areas. Surveys were conducted and a report was submitted to the government on providing alternative livelihood to those who come out of the illicit liquor trade. The BC and SC corporations were also working to eradicate the menace of illicit liquor and rehabilitate those who were in the illicit liquor trade. He said that so far 3,400 families had been rehabilitated. He called upon people to avail the 14400 mobile apps to check corruption.

“The police have taken stringent steps to curb the ganja cultivation and transport. Ganja cultivation has been regulated in the agency areas. Seeds of various crops are being distributed free of cost to the tribal people to raise other crops instead of ganja. Check posts were set up at all vulnerable places to check the ganja transport. If other states also take such stringent steps the ganja menace can completely be prevented”, the DGP said. The DGP admitted that the Maoist activists still exist in AOB and massive combing is being carried out to check their activities.
