DRDO Central Zone Volleyball Tournament inaugurated

Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL), the premier naval research laboratory of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Visakhapatnam was hosting DRDO Central Zone Volleyball Tournament 2022-23 from 16 to 18. Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, Mayor, GVMC has inaugurated the Tournament as Chief Guest, in the presence of Guest of Honour Jiyyani Sridhar, Deputy Mayor GVMC and Dr Y Sreenivas Rao, Outstanding Scientist & Director NSTL.

On the occasion, Mayor Hari Venkata Kumari expressed her happiness over NSTL conducting the event. She wished the teams good luck and asked them to enjoy the beauty of Vizag also.Eight teams from Advanced Systems Laboratory(ASL), Defence Electronics Research Laboratory(DLRL), Research Centre Imarat(RCI), Defence Research & Development Laboratory(DRDL) and Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory(DMRL) from Hyderabad and Integrated Test Range(ITR) & Proof & Experimental Establishment(PXE) from Balasore(Odisha) and the host NSTL are participating in the 3-day Tournament. There are 12 matches, 2 Semi-finals and a Final in this League-Cum-Knock-out Tournament.

Senior Scientists PVS Ganesh Kumar, Dr. BVSS Krishna Kumar, Dr. A Srinivas Kumar; U Urban Kumar, Chairman Organising Committee; Ch Jaya Rao, Chairman Sports Committee; Ch Chandrasekhara Rao, Secretary Sports Committee; Scientists and Officers; Members of Works Committee, NSTL Civil Employees Union, Sports Committee; and other NSTL personnel have attended the inauguration of the Tournament.
