Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud on Friday called upon people to drive out Congress nominee Yennam Srinivas Reddy as he surfaced for the first time after his defeat in the 2014 elections. He stressed the need to drive out Congress which is anti-development
Speaking at a series of meetings during the campaign here, Srinivas Goud, who is seeking re-election from the Mahabubnagar constituency, the Congress candidate did not show his face for 10 years. It was high time that those, who came in the way of development, were driven out of the constituency, he said.
Srinivas Reddy, who was the BJP MLA before the 2014 elections, now switched to the Congress party. The Congress party fielded him as its candidate from Mahabubangar. He failed to develop the constituency when he was the BJP candidate, the Minister said and added that he surfaced now during the elections.
Srinivas Goud appealed to the electorate to vote for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) which fulfilled all promises and even provided welfare benefits to the poor and downtrodden.
The Congress party, which ruled the State, during the combined Andhra Pradesh, pushed the people in the Telangana region into poverty. He stressed the need to continue the welfare schemes for the sake of the poor. The BRS government would only continue the welfare schemes, he said.
