The former minister is visiting villages in the undivided Nalgonda district and interacting with farmers to assess the crop loss.

Former minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy on Thursday said that the drought-like situation in the State has left the farmers in tears. The crises that have engulfed the farming sector are unprecedented and the situation is grim, he said.
Jagadish Reddy, along with former MLA from Thungathurthi G Kishore, visited Velugupally and Singaram villages under Thungathurthi mandal district. He interacted with farmers and assessed the crop damage due to lack of water for irrigation.
Speaking to the media, the former minister said that the lush green fields were conspicuous by their absence. During the BRS regime, the farmers were happy that water for irrigation was provided to them.
He alleged that negligence on the part of the Congress government towards the farm sector led to the present grim situation. The ayacut of the SRSP canal turned into a desert due to the policies of the state government. He accused the state government of intentionally turning the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLPIS) into a disfunctional project because of the fear that credit would go to the former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, who was the architect of the largest lift irrigation scheme in the country.
Jagadish Reddy flayed the Congress Ministers and leaders for not visiting the villages and interacting with farmers who lost their crops due to a lack of water for irrigation. He dared the Ministers to interact with farmers to understand the grim situation prevailing in the undivided Nalgonda district.
