In a shocking incident, Karnati Rambabu, the Chairman of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, fell victim to an attack by unidentified miscreants on Friday evening in Ajit Singh Nagar area of the city.
Reports indicate that Rambabu sustained severe injuries when assailants, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, attacked him with a beer bottle, striking him in the stomach. Swiftly responding to the situation, he was promptly transported to a private hospital, where he received necessary medical attention. Fortunately, doctors have confirmed that he is now in stable condition and out of danger.

The assault occurred as Rambabu, who recently lost his father, visited the burial site to perform a ritual of lighting a lamp. While washing his feet after the ceremony, he was unexpectedly attacked by unidentified individuals. However, Rambabu managed to evade the assailants, though sustaining injuries in the process.
Police took immediate action, successfully apprehending the culprits responsible for the attack.
Police Commissioner Kanti Rama Tata personally reached out to Chairman Rambabu to enquire about the incident, seeking details about the attackers and assuring a thorough investigation. The motive behind the assault remains is yet to be ascertained.
