The products made by Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) self-help groups in Telangana will soon be branded for larger marketing. Minister for Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao, along with Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty CEO Sandeep Kumar Sultania made the announcement after reviewing the plan at the Minister’s camp office on Tuesday. Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said, “So far, self-help women’s groups across the state have been producing many items by themselves.
There is good demand for the products manufactured by Telangana women’s associations. So, if we arrange more attractive billing, packing and branding, the demand for these goods will increase, the purchase will go well and it will be profitable. With this, agreements with big international online marketing companies like Amazon can be made and more business can be done. We will ensure that Telangana Dwcra women’s products shall be branded well.”
He further added, “The name of Telangana is already changing at national and international level. We have no match in terms of development and welfare. Designing and implementation of various schemes has not stopped. We are number one in the country in the development and promotion of our women’s associations.”
The minister suggested that branding should be easy and catchy so that the name of Telangana can be respected and women’s products can be sold easily and attractively in the international market. He also ordered the officials to take it to the attention of Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao and implement new branding with his permission and to examine several names accordingly.
Marketing of some essential commodities and other goods manufactured by food-processing units has already been done in various ways. Agreements have also been signed with companies like Flipkart recently. This initiative is set to accelerate the reach of the products.
Panchayati Raj, Rural Development Secretary, SERP, CEO Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, SERP officers Rajitha and others participated in the review meeting.
