VIJAYAWADA: Expressing anger over the police high-handed behaviour, registering cases against the TDP leaders regarding the Gannavaram violence incidents, TDP chief and former Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that the SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act is being misused. Talking to the media, after meeting Pattabhiram’s wife at their residence, Naidu said that CI Kanaka Rao is a Christian and he comes under BC (C) Group and questioned how he could complain against the TDP leaders and how cases would be registered under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.

Naidu warned that if such harassment and torture of TDP leaders continued that would lead to a revolt of people against the system. He said that the TDP would release a comprehensive report on the Gannavaram incidents. Naidu said that the police parked lorries across the road in a bid to prevent him from visiting the Gannavaram TDP office.

Earlier, Naidu vented his anger over the police at the airport for creating obstacles to his convoy. Police hoped that Naidu would go to Gannavaram parked lorries across the road and later they removed them when Naidu went to Vijayawada. Earlier, Naidu was assured of standing by the family of Pattabhiram. He spoke with the wife and other family members of Pattabhiram at their residence.
