ECI has seized Rs 155 cr in cash & kind since March 16

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has seized cash and material worth Rs 1,55,85,98,318, including liquor, drugs and freebies from March 16 to April 21, 2024.
The ECI seized Rs 61.11 crore in cash, Rs 28.92 crore worth of liquor, Rs 23.87 crore of Narcotics, Rs 19.16 crore of precious metal ornaments and Rs 22.77 crore of freebies.
District Election Officer (DEO) Ronald Rose said that since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has filed 289 FIR’s in Hyderabad district.
On Tuesday, the ECI released a press release, wherein it mentioned that the enforcement teams seized Rs 77.50 lakh, Rs 22.65 worth of materials and 34 liters of liquor from Monday 6 am to Tuesday 6 am.
Ronald Rose said that so far a total of Rs 15.44 crore of cash and other items worth Rs 7.13 crore have been seized in the district and 20,989 liters of illegal liquor was seized, 211 cases were registered and 211 persons were arrested.
