Anticipating huge cash inflows during the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, top officials of the Election Commission of India held a meeting with the brass of enforcement agencies, including Income Tax Department (CBDT), Narcotics Control Board (NCB), Excise Department, State GST:CGST, Enforcement Directorate, State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), CISF, State Commercial Taxes Department.
A delegation of the Election Commission of India held a meeting with Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj and Special Police Nodal Officer and CAPF nodal officer on poll preparedness of Telangana State in view of the upcoming Assembly Elections on Thursday.
The ECI sought proactive measures from the Police department in curbing contraband and strengthening border check points, deployment of additional personnel in sensitive areas and steps to neutralise poll-related violence.
The Election Commission of India delegation was led by Dharmendra Sharma, Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, Nitish Kumar Vyas, Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, RK Gupta, Deputy Election Commissioner, Sanjay Kumar , Under Secretary, Avinash Kumar , Principal Secretary, Hirdesh Kumar, Deputy Election Commissioner, Manoj Kumar Sahoo , Deputy Election Commissioner, B. Narayanan, Director General (Media), NR Butolia, Senior Principal Secretary, and Deepali Masirkar (Director-Planning).
