ED keeps Rohit in dark about case details, to grill today too

BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, a complainant in the case regarding the alleged attempt to poach party MLAs, appeared before the ED here on Monday.After six hours of questioning, Rohit said, “ED officials have not clarified in which case they are questioning me. They asked for details about my business and family. No questions were asked on money laundering or any other issue. They asked about my business and personal transactions.”

The ED had last week served notice to the legislator from Tandur to appear before it on Monday, although Rohit Reddy had earlier said he has no clue as to why the investigating agency has issued the notice.

Rohit, before entering the ED office here, told reporters that he had sought time till December 31 to appear before the agency, but they had refused and insisted on his appearance today. “As a law-abiding citizen, I came,” Rohit said. “I am in Ayyappa Diksha and asked for time until December 31. I sent the letter through my PA but the ED rejected my letter. I was informed to come at three o’clock. I have come as I respect investigative agencies,” Rohit said.

Rohit who was supposed to head to the ED office went to Pragathi Bhavan instead on Monday morning. The CM reportedly instructed him to seek more time but the ED refused Rohit’s request.

“I have been instructed to appear before the ED again on Tuesday. I will come again on Tuesday at 10:30 am. My personal details were asked. They also asked me about my family’s details. I answered all the questions,” he added Rohit said that he had asked the ED about which case they were questioning him but was not informed about it. He had earlier denied allegations of involvement in any narcotics-related cases.

Three people, Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Nandu Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy, were named as accused in the poaching case.
