Telangana, Madhya Pradesh in second and third places

The hosts Andhra Pradesh emerged overall champions at the third Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) National Sports Meet, while Telangana and Madhya Pradesh stood in the second and third places, respectively.
The Andhra Pradesh athletes displayed excellent performances in all disciplines. AP bagged both boys’ and girls’ championships in Athletics, Badminton, Gymnastics, and Shooting, and won the boys’ Tennis title. In the girls’ category, AP bagged Archery, Boxing and Swimming championships.
However, in the under-19 category, Andhra Pradesh won the boys’ Handball, Volleyball, and girls’ Kho-Kho Championships. Also, Telangana won the boys’ Kabaddi and girls’ Volleyball championships.
On Thursday, the concluding ceremony was conducted at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada. Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Tribal Welfare Peedika Rajanna Dora presented trophies to the winners. Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Department Secretary Kantilal Dande and Director M Jahnavi were present.
