Additional SP K Nageswara Rao said that the consumption of ganja spoils life and he underlined the need of creating awareness among people against the use of ganja and drugs.
Addressing a programme here on Thursday, the Additional SP said that the consumption of ganja would badly affect and destroy life. The Additional SP emphasised the need of creating awareness among the people on the ill effects of the consumption of ganja.
The additional SP said that cannabis is a psychoactive drug, the use of ganja leads to many evils, the thinking power of the youth is lost and they fall into the path of crime. He said that using drugs is a crime according to the law, adding that many laws are being implemented and punishments are being given to the drug sellers and also users.
The ASP warned that strict action would be taken if anyone lures innocent youths and students into the drug trade. He appealed to the youth to maintain distance from bad habits like consuming ganja and drugs.
The Additional SP appealed to the people of the district to immediately inform the police on SEB toll-free number 14500, local police or police WhatsApp number 9121102266, or dial 100 if they have information about anyone buying, selling, or using ganja in the district. Ongole SEB Superintendent A Avulaiah, District Excise Prohibition Superintendent R. Hanumantha Rao, SEB CI Vamsidhar, Taluka SSI Ankama Rao, Raj Kumar, Srinivasa Rao, and others were present.
