The innovative schemes and efforts of the YSR Congress government like ‘Nadu-Nedu’, ‘Amma Vodi’, and other welfare schemes the enrolment in the government schools largely increased reaching 42 lakh students in 26 districts of AP State, said State Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath.

Addressing media persons on Thursday, the Finance Minister refuted allegations of Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu that a decrease of four lakh students in the government schools and closure of 6,000 government schools during the YSRC government.

Minister Rajendranath, showing the records, explained that in fact, in 2017, the then CM Chandrababu Naidu closed 2906 schools. Of them, 1,759 are primary schools and the rest are high schools.

In 2014, when the Telugu Desam government assumed power, there were about 42 lakh students in government schools, but by 2019, the number had dropped to 37 lakh. He claimed that after our government came in 2019, the number of students in government schools increased again to 42 lakhs due to special attention on the education sector and government schools.

Rajendranath said that Naidu should feel ashamed for blocking the establishment of a High Court in Kurnool as per the Sribagh Agreement and Naidu was born in Rayalaseema and does not wish for the development of Rayalaseema. He objected to the calling him ‘Appula’ (debts) minister by Naidu and said that in any country or state, only the finance minister is the one who takes out loans and works in that process and it was also registered in the Naidu government. He further objected to the statement of Naidu demolishing his house in lieu of the removal of encroachments by government officials. FM Rajendranath added that Naidu has a habit of destroying lives under which he destroyed the life of his uncle NTR and brother-in-law Harikrishna and still Naidu did not change his attitude.

The Minister denied claims of Naidu that industries came to the state during his reign. He explained that during the last 5 years of Naidu rule, the average investment in the large and medium industrial sectors in the state was only Rs.11,994 crores, but during the Covid crisis, even when the economic situation around the world was turned upside down, during our government’s tenure, the average investment in the industrial sector was Rs.13,200 crores. He said that this is fact and all these statistics are given by DPIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade).

The Minister said that only 34,000 jobs were given during the TD government, FM Rajendranath said that the Jagan government gave 2.10 lakh jobs in a go and was going to give notification for another 10,000 posts.

Minister Rajendranath recalled that after Chandrababu Naidu came to power, the Independence Day was held in Kurnool that year and he made many promises like a cement products hub, nuclear fuel complex (NFC) in Koilakuntla, deer park in Alur, tiger park in Srisailam, solar and wind power plants and repair workshop for railway wagons but did not fulfill even one. He mentioned that industries, solar and wind power plants came only in our government and further Hyderabad-Bangalore Industrial Corridor also came up.
