Director Srikanth Addala, known for his family-oriented films like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Mukunda, Brahmotsavam, and Narappa, has taken the audience by surprise after the release of the trailer for his next film, Peddha Kapu. Starring Virat Karna as the protagonist, the movie is produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under the Dwarka Creations banner.

Cinematographer Chota K. Naidu, who shares a long-time relationship with Srikanth Addala from his Kotha Bangaru Lokam days, is the DoP for this movie as well, which will hit theaters on September 29. The promotional activities for the movie are in full swing.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Chota K Naidu, who likes to take up challenging work, said, “My journey with Srikanth Addala began with his first film, Kotha Bangaru Lokam. He always tells me the stories of the films he has made since then. We always wanted to do a film together; however, we couldn’t because of date issues. But Peddha Kapu is a very interesting movie, and I wanted to be a part of this new world of cinema.”

Director VV Vinayak, who watched a few portions of the movie, compared Naidu with legendary PC Sriram, and Naidu feels elated that Vinayak has loved his work very much in this movie; however, he credits the director for all the great visuals that the audience will soon witness in theaters. He shared, “All credit goes to the director in this regard. Such an output comes only with the help of the director. A director’s vision is more important than my excellence.”

Small-screen glamour Anasuya gets to play a key role in this movie, and the DoP was all praise for his director for designing all the characters in the movie in the most unique way. He says every character in the movie has an arc. Furthermore, Srikanth also plays a role in the movie. Asked how he found his director friend performing on screen for the first time, he said, “Srikanth is truly amazing as an actor. Even the difficult shots he had done in a single take. Every scene done by Srikanth in this film was okayed in a single take. Every scene done by Srikanth was directed by our producer, Ravinder Reddy. When they get shot, they say OK (laughing). We had a lot of fun.”

Spilling some beans on the story of Peddha Kapu, he said, “Srikanth took incidents from the time when Rama Rao established his own political party and wrote this story. Srikanth’s father is a huge admirer of Rama Rao, and Srikanth has good knowledge of what happened with Rama Rao, the people around him, and more. Taking inspiration from it, Srikanth penned this story.”

Sharing one of the most exciting scenes for him in the movie, Naidu said in conclusion, “The struggle of the hero and his pals face to place the party’s flag in the village is very interesting. For this, a big tree was cut down from the forest and planted in the village. This is a big task for all of us. Shooting this episode was a miracle in my career. It was created by Srikanth and played by Fight Master Peter. This is the episode I am most proud of. We also worked very hard to create the atmosphere of 1983.”

Lastly, he shared the exciting news that Chiranjeevi’s next movie will be released in November.
