Expedite construction of buildings, officials told

District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh has directed the officials concerned to complete the construction of government-priority buildings by the end of November.

The Collector reviewed the progress of the construction of government priority building and maintenance of solid waste management sheds at a meeting held with village sarpanches, MPDOs, EOPRDs, and panchayat raj engineers, of various mandals at the Zilla Parishad meeting hall on Friday.

On this occasion, Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh said that there should be daily monitoring of the progress of work at the field level. He warned that action would be taken against the authorities concerned if the work is not started or completed within the stipulated time.

“If there are any problems in the management of the works, the respective MPDOs and Panchayat Raj AEs should go to the respective villages and seek the views of the residents through the village meetings and make progress in the works”, the Collector told them.

The Collector also reviewed the construction and maintenance of solid waste management sheds. He said that solid waste management should contribute to the development of villages.

Collector Venkatesh told the officials to take steps to manage the units so that the panchayats get income by making fertilizers from the garbage. “Solid waste management sheds should be fully maintained. Those under construction and repairs should be completed and ready by the end of November”, the Collector told them.

On this occasion, Collector Prasanna Venkatesh reviewed the Mandal-wise progress of government priority building construction with the officials concerned. ZP CEO K. Ravikumar, DPO N.Balaji, DRDA PD Vijayaraju, DWAMA PD D.Rambabu, Panchayati Raj Incharge SE MV Ramanamurthy, DLDO Ramana and Sarpanchs of various village panchayats participated in the meeting.
