Eye checkup, nutrition awareness camp organised

As part of the Navy Day celebrations, the Indian Navy conducted a community eye checkup, health and nutrition awareness Camp for the residents of Mulagada, Yeduruvani Palem, Pilakavani Palem and Gondesivani Palem villages in Paravada with the support of Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital, Visakhapatnam. The camp was organised under the community outreach initiative of the Eastern Naval Command at Gondesivani Palem Community Hall.

The medical camp was inaugurated by Surg RAdm R Ravi, Command Medical Officer, ENC. Cmde Sanjay Adhana, Commanding Officer, INS Eksila and Surg Cmde Rohit Sharma Commanding Officer, INHS Kalyani, were present. Medical officers and staff from INS Eksila and INHS Kalyani and two ophthalmologists from Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital conducted the medical camp, in which over 200 local villagers including pregnant women and elders were provided free consultation and medicines. The attendees were also given health supplements during the camp.
