Farmers committing suicide, but PM showing tigers: KCR

Must read

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that in a country where hundreds of farmers are ending their lives every year, the Prime Minister is showing tigers and cheetahs.

Addressing a public meeting in Sambaji Nagar (Aurangabad), KCR said, “The Prime Minister is showing tigers in a country where hundreds of farmers are committing suicide. In Maharashtra, six to seven farmers are committing suicide every day. But what are the PM and CM doing? They are showing us tigers from Africa. Our farmer tigers are dying. They are saying, “See our African tigers, Namibian cheetahs etc. Look at them and be happy.”

“This is not the answer to the problem. I request our farmers that until we become tigers we can’t find a solution to our problem. Let’s be ready,” KCR said.

He said that he would resign from his post if he is proven wrong about the country’s coal reserves.

“The Telangana government is supplying uninterrupted power to farmers 24 hours a day. Why can’t Maharashtra also do the same? India’s coal reserves can meet power demand for 150 years. If proved wrong, I will resign my CM’s post,” KCR said.

“If we feed donkeys, will cows give milk?  Unity is the only solution. Farmers and Dalits should not commit suicide. Use your vote, create a government and change your destiny. “Apna laksh kisan sarkar,” KCR said

He asked why shouldn’t the Telangana model be implemented in Maharashtra. “Just copy the Telangana model as it is, and I will go to Madhya Pradesh leaving Maharashtra,” KCR said.

He said the BRS would win the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad elections. “Maharashtra has money but no commitment. They made us fools with Digital India, Make in India etc. The Telangana model will be implemented in Maharashtra.”

KCR called upon Modi to rename the Parliament Building after Dr BR Ambedkar. “Ambedkar was also born here. Telangana installed a 125-feet Ambedkar statue and the State secretariat is also named after Dr Ambedkar.  Modi should name the Parliament building after Ambedkar,” he said.

KCR said the BRS will have a permanent office in Nagpur and in Sambaji Nagar too.

“Water and power are essential for development. India has abundant water resources but is still facing scarcity. Our leaders are not committed. Farmers’ suicides should not continue. During Nehru’s time, there was some planning. After that every government at the Centre failed,” KCR said.

He said Maharashtra has many rivers like the Krishna, the Manjeera, the Ghataprabha etc. “There is no drinking water even though Mumbai is the financial capital. People are not asking for gold, but only drinking water. Many governments changed and even drinking water is not supplied. Should India remain like this or change?” KCR asked.

He said the BRS will provide drinking water to every household like in Telangana once a BRS government takes charge in Maharashtra.  “We must provide irrigation to every acre. There is no other solution,” he added.
