A raging fire erupted in Foxlink company near Renigunta airport in Tirupati district on Monday. A huge cloud of thick smoke has engulfed the company and the surrounding area.
The workers ran out of the company and informed firefighters, who doused the fire in a short time, no casualties were reported.
According to Yerpedu Inspector V Srihari, a huge fire broke out at Foxlink industry in Renigunta Industrial Estate. A fire broke out on the first floor of the industry. As the fire spread rapidly, thick smoke spread throughout the building. All of a sudden the employees ran out of the industry. The company manufactures data cables. The security personnel informed the firefighters. The firemen brought the fire under control with three fire engines. While the first floor was completely gutted, other floors were partially damaged. Four women fainted after coming outside the building and they were shifted to the government hospital in Renigunta. They were discharged after receiving treatment. The police estimate that property worth crores of rupees have been burnt to ashes.
At the time of the fire, more than 300 workers were working in the factory. As the fire broke out, crews tried to control the fire.
As the fire could not be controlled, the staff was sent outside by the factory security. “There was heavy property damage but no loss of life,” the factory management said.
