My brother Krishna established himself as a star within a short time. At that time NT Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao made films and my brother wanted to make a film with high budget, high technical values and also in colour. My brother started the Padmalaya Movies, and our first film was ‘Agni Pariksha’ (1970). At that time I was hardly 20 years old when I was turned a producer for that film. Varaprasada Rao was the director for this film. It was not a big commercial success, but I learnt a lot from the director like script-writing, story, budget, sets, combination scenes and many other things related to films. My other brother Hanumantha Rao was a government employee. So he joined us only from the second film.
