First Tholi Mettu programme successful: Min Sabitha

Minister for Education Sabitha Indra Reddy said that the Tholi Mettu programme has been successful for Classes I to V.

The Minister directed the Education Department officials and non-governmental organisations to concentrate on people who are lagging behind in education and must be made aware of the programme to be undertaken with the help of the local literate youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Sabitha Indra Reddy said that during the Covid period, the children were far away from education and the Tholi Metu programme’s new teaching methods increased the interest.

As part of that, those who are lagging behind in education will be specially identified with the local Sarpanch, MPTCs and volunteers being appointed from among the youth who have studied in that village with the help of NGOs and special classes will be organised, she said.

Apart from Rangareddy district, this programme will be organised in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Hyderabad and Medchal districts. The Minister called upon the teachers, local public representatives, NGOs, locally educated former students and youth to take the responsibility of this programme.
