For the first time in a decade Hyderabad has recorded a temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius in the third week of June. Weather expert T. Balaji said on Twitter, “For the first time this decade Hyderabad recorded 40°C temperature in the third week of June.”
Several areas in the city recorded a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. The areas are Bahadurpura (41.2), Secunderabad (41.2), Maredpally (40), Serilingampally (39.1), Khairatabad (39.2) and Kapra (39.6).In its forecast for the next five days, the IMD said that severe heat wave conditions are likely in Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts. Moderate heat waves were predicted in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Jayashankar Bhupally, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahbubabad and Warangal on June 18.
A heat wave is likely in the above districts on Sunday along with isolated moderate rain. The IMD said that isolated moderate rains are likely on June 19 and thunderstorms are likely on June 20, 21 and 22.
