Five lakh houses will be completed by Ugadi: Minister

Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh said that by Ugadi festival, construction of five lakh houses should be completed under Navratnalu Pedalandariki Illu scheme. The minister added that about 20 lakh families will celebrate Ugadi festival happily. On Wednesday, the minister held a high-level review meeting with the Housing Department here, attended by Special Chief Secretary (Housing) Ajay Jain, Housing Secretary BM Maidie, MD Lakshmisha, JMD Siva Prasad and officials from 26 districts.

On the occasion, the minister said that the officials across the State should work in accordance with the target of getting the construction of the houses completed on time. He said that the house warming ceremony of five lakh houses would be a special moment and the officials would strive to achieve it. The best performer will get awards from Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Special CS Ajay Jain said that Pedalandariki Illu was a prestigious scheme of the State government and that the officials should ensure that the works were completed on time. Right from engineering assistants to the district collectors should strive and ensure that by Ugadi the target was achieved.
