District Collector Krithika Sukla has asked the representatives of various recognised political parties to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct and warned of action if the norms are violated.
Addressing the representatives of recognised political parties at a meeting held at the Collectorate here on Monday, she told them that all the banners, photos, and hoardings of various political parties arranged in connection with the election campaign would be removed within 72 hours after the election model code of conduct came into effect.
The Collector explained to them about the election schedule, electoral rolls, election officials details, forms filed regarding the 6, 7, and 8, details of polling centres, the number of EVMs, awareness on usage of VV pods, storage points, counting centres, control rooms, and the election code of conduct.
She said that as of March 17, in all seven assembly constituencies put together, there were 16,11,171 voters. She further said that for effective enforcement of the election code of conduct, special teams such as flying squads, statistics surveillance teams, and regular police were deployed.
DRO  D Tippe Naik, YSRCP leader Ravuri Venkateswara (YSRCP), TDP leader Gadula Saibaba, BSP leader Sabbarapu Appa Rao (BSP),  Congress leader Akula Venkataramana and BJP leader Ch. Ramesh Babu (BJP) was among those who attended.
