Must read

NTR District Police Commissioner PHD Ramakrishna announced on Monday that 29 strong rooms have been established at Nimra and Nova Colleges to securely house the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). These strong rooms are protected by a three-tiered security system, including Central Forces, ensuring foolproof security.
In a media interaction, Commissioner Ramakrishna detailed the comprehensive security measures, which involve the deployment of the Armed Reserve, Civil Police, two Deputy Commissioners of Police (Dy CPs), and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) companies.
To maintain continuous surveillance, 100 advanced CCTV cameras, facial recognition devices, and surveillance personnel equipped with body-worn cameras are being used. Access to the strong rooms is strictly limited to individuals authorized by the District Election Officer/District Collector, contesting candidates, and their agents. All entries and exits are logged, and visitor movements are closely monitored.
An area within a 2-kilometer radius of the strong rooms has been designated a “red zone,” where drone usage is prohibited. The police have urged the public not to spread unverified news on social media. A command control room with static VHF sets and Manpacks has been set up to ensure continuous communication. Additionally, 450 floodlights with generators have been installed to detect any anti-social activities in the vicinity.
Daily flag marches and route marches are being conducted by Law & Order, Armed Reserve (AR), Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP), and paramilitary forces under the supervision of the respective division Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs). These actions aim to reassure the public and raise awareness about the security measures in place.
Commissioner Ramakrishna also mentioned that prohibitory orders under Section 144 (2) CrPC and Section 30 are in force within the Commissionerate’s jurisdiction. As a result, no meetings, processions, protests, or dharna activities are permitted without prior police permission. Gatherings of more than four people are prohibited, and petrol stations are barred from selling loose petrol and diesel. The use of ammunition and carrying of flammable items are strictly forbidden.
Violators of these rules will face strict legal action, and rowdy sheets will be opened against them. The Mandal Executive Magistrate is binding over 109 individuals who violated election rules and caused law and order issues. Proposals under the PD Act have been initiated against 10 individuals, and deportation proposals for 7 people are underway, according to Commissioner Ramakrishna.
