The Telangana government wrote to Union Minister Rajnath Singh requesting allotment of defence land to the State Government for road widening and for constructing a flyover.

“The Telangana government intends to increase traffic movement efficiency and at the same time reduce the problems of motorists by expanding the roads leading to Rajiv Rahadaari. The proposed route will pass through defence lands and I request your ministry to approve the road expansion project,” B. Vinod Kumar, the State Planning Commission Vice Chairman said.

“I request you to consider these proposals favourably and approve the widening of the arterial roads in cantonment areas, particularly the road leading to Rajiv Rahadaari. I am confident that the road widening project will greatly benefit the people of Hyderabad and improve their quality of life,” Vinod said in his letter.

He reminded that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the Minister for Urban Development, KT Rama Rao, had written many letters regarding the proposed road widening in cantonment areas that will connect Parade Grounds to the Outer Ring Road Junction in Shamirpet which is a key transit point for the people of Hyderabad.
“The construction of this expressway will reduce travel time and relieve traffic congestion improving the overall quality of life for the people,” he said.
