TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has written a letter to the Union Minister for Forests, Environment, and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, expressing his concern over the alleged encroachment of forest lands and urging for immediate action to protect the ecosystem in the region of Allamcherlarajupalem in T Narasapuram mandal, located in West Godavari district.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the T Narasapuram mandal is not only a pristine forest area but also serves as a natural habitat for unique species. He provided detailed information on various notifications issued by the Forest Department between October 15, 1951, and February 6, 1974, highlighting that the 366.99-acre block had been officially designated as a reserve forest area under the provisions of the AP Forest Act 1967.

The former chief minister mentioned that encroachers and their heirs have been filing multiple petitions in the High Court, falsely claiming rights to the land. Despite the interim order issued by the High Court to maintain status quo, these encroachers are taking advantage of the available time during the stay.

Chandrababu Naidu revealed that the encroachers are conducting unauthorised activities, such as drilling bore wells, installing power supply poles, and engaging in clandestine excavation on the land. He further alleged that the ruling YSRCP party is supporting these encroachers in an attempt to establish revenue records for the land, despite it belonging to the Forest Department.

In his letter, Chandrababu Naidu urged the Central government to promptly initiate a survey of the forest land and provide substantial evidence to fight the ongoing legal battle until a favourable resolution is reached.
