ACB sleuths asked BRS Working President KTR around 82 questions which he claimed to be questions framed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. “Most of them were repeat questions, I asked them (ACB) where the corruption was,” he said.
Amid chants of ‘CM CM,’ KTR returned to Telangana Bhavan at around 5.30 pm and got a rousing reception from BRS activists. He got a welcome at his home in Nandi Nagar too.
KTR said that the ACB was on a wild goose chase and that they had questioned him for seven hours.
“The ACB officials had nothing new to ask. Just like there is ‘no Mysore in Mysore Bonda,’ the ACB’s corruption case had no corruption in it,” KTR said.
KTR said on Thursday that he was ready to face a thousand cases like the one registered against him in connection with the Formula-E Race case.
Talking to reporters while leaving his residence to appear before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), he denied all corruption charges and said that he was not afraid of any case. He said he has full faith in the law, courts and the Constitution.
He said that the Congress government registered the case against him as he was questioning its “failure” to implement the promises made to the people during elections.
The BRS leader said that he could answer all questions as he had done no wrong.
He declared that he would continue to question the Congress government over its failures. “As KCR’s son, I will die for Telangana if needed but won’t bow in front of such people,” he said.
He claimed that as BRS minister he had tried to enhance Hyderabad’s brand image by bringing the Formula-E Race to the city.
“When the BRS was in power, I did not give a Rs 1,137 crore contract to my brother-in-law. As a Minister, I did not give a contract to my son’s company or purchase land cruisers with that money. Such things can be done by only Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues,” he said.
Earlier, KTR posted on ‘X’ that the BRS government had brought the Formula-E Race to make Hyderabad a hub of e-mobility. He claimed that it had yielded results with the state attracting investments of Rs 12,000 crore during the E-mobility Week 2023.
“I worked tirelessly to bring the prestigious event to India, making Hyderabad a pivotal hub for sustainable mobility as the world transitions towards it. The Formula-E Race was part of the effort to realise this. My objective was to make TMV (Telangana Mobility Valley) clusters the epicentre of innovation, research and the manufacture of electric vehicles creating employment and revenue. We had started well bringing in marquee investments of over Rs 12,000 crore during the E-mobility week 2023,” he wrote.
“Small minds who are driven by petty politics may never understand any of this, but I am confident that the people of Telangana will understand the truth. Truth always triumphs and justice will prevail,” he added.
