Four sand booking points from todayCollector says there will be no booking for sand at the stock points

NTR District Collector Dr G Srijana has stated that as per the instructions from the State government, they set up four new sand booking centres in the district and they will be coming into force from August 23. There will be no facility to book sand at the stock points, she said. This initiative step has been taken to implement the free sand policy effectively and added that the new Sand Policy would come soon.
Addressing the media at the Collectorate, on Thursday, Srijana said that the district administration has set up four sand booking centres. For the Keesara stok point, people could book sand at Kanchikacherla -3 Sachivalayam, she said. Also, for the Moguluru stock point – Chevitikallu Sachivalayam, Anumanchipalli stock point – Share Mohammedpet Panchayat Office and the Polampalli stock point people are advised to book sand at the Polamapalli Grama Sachivalayam, she added.
Further, she said that people could book for sand from morning 6 to evening 4. Earlier 8 sand stock points were available to provide free sand to the people, however after conducting a detailed review with Revenue, Mines and Police departments, sand booking points were reduced to four, she said. Later, she made clear that sand booking is available to those vehicles registered on the AP Mines.gov.in website.
Meanwhile, she stated that 20 metric tonnes of sand would be supplied to each consumer per day. To monitor the sand booking effectively, and implement the Free Sand Police in the district, Joint Collector Nidhi Meena has been appointed as Nodal Officer, she said.
