Minister for Water Resources Development, Nimmala Ramanaidu, has announced that the free gas cylinder scheme will commence from the upcoming Deepavali festival.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Palakollu organised the ‘Idi Manchi Prabutwam’ programme, which saw participation from thousands, including Minister Ramanaidu. A grand rally featuring a 100-metre TDP flag commenced at the PR rice mill and concluded at Bhageswaram, covering a distance of three kilometres.
During the event, TDP leaders performed Palabhisekham to cutouts of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ramanaidu highlighted that the government is rolling out the Super Six welfare schemes in phases, with the free domestic gas cylinder scheme set to benefit eligible households this Deepavali.
He noted that the Naidu-led government is filling 16,347 teacher posts through the DSC exams. Ramanaidu also recalled that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu personally disbursed social security pensions at beneficiaries’ doorsteps, creating a festive atmosphere across the state every month on the first.
The Minister claimed that government employees now receive their salaries promptly on the first of each month since the coalition government took power.
Ramanaidu stated that the controversial ‘Land Titling Act’ was abolished immediately upon the Naidu government’s assumption of office. He lamented that “more damage was done to Andhra Pradesh during the five years of YSRCP rule than during bifurcation.” He highlighted that the coalition government has disbursed Rs 1,670 crore in arrears to farmers for paddy produced during the previous regime.
He praised Chandrababu Naidu for his commitment to assist flood victims along the Budameru rivulet, noting that Naidu has actively monitored the flood situation, even wading through waters to assess damage.
“The Annamayya dam was washed away in floods in the combined Kadapa district a few years ago, yet the then Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy did not visit to assess the loss. The crest gate of Pulichintala was also lost to floods, and the necessary repairs were neglected. The crest gates of Gundlakamma reservoir were similarly washed away, highlighting the YSRCP government’s apathy towards irrigation projects,” Ramanaidu asserted.
Expressing outrage over the use of adulterated ghee for making Laddu Prasadam at Tirumala, he alleged that the sanctity of the world-famous temple has been compromised under the YSRCP regime. He condemned the use of ghee containing animal fat, stating it has hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus.
Former Legislative Council Chairman Angara Rammohan and other leaders also participated in the programme.
