Former Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu has emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and good eating habits as key contributors to better health. He attended a free medical camp sponsored by the EVR Super Speciality Hospital, Gudivada, at the Swarna Bharathi Trust at Atkuru near Gannavaram on Sunday.
In his address, Venkaiah Naidu highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Swarna Bharati Trust, which operates in Hyderabad, Nellore, and Atkuru, to support rural poor students by providing them with lodging and boarding facilities. He also mentioned that the Trust is actively involved in empowering the unemployed youth by offering free training in 17 different trades, helping them secure self-employment opportunities.
Venkaiah Naidu expressed concern over the free schemes provided by the government, suggesting that they may lead to laziness among the people. He urged the government to focus instead on offering free education and healthcare services, which he believes will have a more positive and lasting impact on society.
He also advised parents to encourage their children to learn about Indian culture and traditions, urging them to focus on these values. He suggested using social media for educational purposes rather than wasting time on it.
Besides, he expressed his concern over the growing dependence on mobile phones, which he believes is affecting people’s ability to think independently. He encouraged people to remain health-conscious by practising yoga and engaging in other physical exercises.
Venkaiah Naidu commended Alluri Rama Raju, a 75-year-old resident of Ambapuram in Vijayawada Rural, for his noble act of donating his organs to the NTR Trust Cancer Hospital. He praised Raju as an inspiration for others to follow.
The event was attended by Swarna Bharat Trust CEO Sarath Babu, along with doctors from EVR Super Speciality Hospital, including Rajendra, Satish Chandra, Rajya Lakshmi, Revanth Kumar, Amritha, Raghuvaran, Suman Kumar, and Jaya Sri.
