Friday turned out to be the hottest day of this monsoon season in Hyderabad as the city recorded a temperature of around 35°C to 37°C and parts of South East Telangana recorded temps of 38°C to 39°C.
The TSDPS said that from August 26 to September 1, weak/break monsoon conditions are prevailing over most districts as the monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to be north of its normal position or along the foothills of the Himalayas. Weather expert T. Balaji said, “All this heat is just fuel for future rainfall. More the heat, the more powerful will be the rains from Saturday.”
“The Monsoon trough at mean sea level continues to run along the foothills of the Himalayas. A cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the North Bay of Bengal around September 3. Due to its influence, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the same region in the subsequent 48 hours.Thereafter, it is expected to move west-north westwards towards central India,” the TSDPS said.
The highest maximum temperature of 38.9°C was recorded at Mellachervu Road (Suryapet) on August 31, while the lowest minimum temperature of 19.50°C was recorded at Malchelma (Sangareddy) on August 27.
The Forecast for the week from September 2 to 8 says that there will be light to moderate rain/thundershowers expected at some places till Saturday. After that light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at many places and isolated heavy rain during the remaining days of the week.
The maximum temperatures are expected to range from 34°C to 37oC, while the minimum temperatures will be between 24°C to 27°C.
