GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that in the last financial year 2022-2023 property tax collection was Rs 1,660 crore, while the tax collection for the year 2023-2024 was Rs 1,971 crore, which is Rs 261 crore more than last year. On the last day of the financial year, March 31, GHMC collected Rs 129 crore.
As the GHMC has collected more property tax, the officials organised a felicitation programme at Banjara Bhavan in Banjara Hills on Wednesday. At the meeting, Ronald Rose said that the GHMC has achieved a record collection of stipend collections of taxes. Compared to last financial year to this year more than Rs 261 crore of property tax has been collected. He congratulated the GHMC officers and staff for their efforts in record property tax collection.
He said that implementation of One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme on property tax arrears up to the financial year 2022-23 has given good results. The tax collection of more than Rs 300 crore has been done this year as the officers and special officers had taken special care and encouraged the taxpayers.
Ronald Rose said, “With the implementation of the ‘Early Bird Scheme’, the revenue of Rs 740 crore was generated in the last financial year and it is estimated that the revenue of Rs 800 crore will be generated this financial year”.
Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti, Additional Collector Hemant Keshav Patil, Additional Commissioners of GHMC, Sneha Shabarish and others participated in this programme.
