Upon receiving a water contamination complaint from residents of Kausar Colony reported in Prajavani, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials responded and took action.
Residents of Kausar Colony raised concerns about polluted water in Balkapur Nala, affecting nearby borewells. They requested the GHMC to divert drains away from Balkapur Nala to safeguard their borewells, as the drains from Jubilee Hills are also pumped into the nala.
Recognising the urgency of the situation, the GHMC officials initiated siltation work at the new pond in Balkapur Nala. According to GHMC officials, construction of box drains from the new outlet of Balkapur Nala will soon be completed to prevent water contamination and ensure the safety of residents’ borewells, along with protection from flooding during the rainy season.
