Girls outshine boys in Inter results

Girls outperformed boys in the Telangana Intermediate public examinations, the results of which were announced on Tuesday.

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) released the results of the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) held from March 5 to March 25.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy were present while announcing the results.

Boys have been improving their show since the last three years, with nearly a one percentage increase from last year and three per cent from 2023.

A total of 9,97,012 students appeared for first and second year exams in both General and Vocational streams. The results show a significant performance gap between girls and boys, with girls securing a higher pass percentage in both years.

A total of 4,88,430 students appeared for the First Year exams, with 73.83 per cent of girls and 57.83 per cent of boys passing. In the second year, 5,08,582 students appeared for the exams, and of that, 74.21 per cent girls and 57.31 per cent boys passed.

Girls of both Intermediate years topped the result, with first-year girls scoring 68.68 per cent and second-year girls scoring 71.57 per cent in 2023. First year 2023 boys percentage remains stagnant at 54.66 per cent. In the second year, boys percentage remained at 55.60 per cent.

The Board recorded a peaceful and fair conduct of exams, with over 29,000 invigilatorsmand 18,500 evaluators involved. Practical exams were held from February 3 to 22, and spot valuation was done across 19 centres.

Students can apply for Recounting and Scanned Copy-cum-Re-verification* from April 23 to April 30, 2025, via the TGBIE website. The recounting fee is Rs 100 per paper, and re-verification with script is Rs 600 per paper, said Krishna Aditya, the Secretary of the TGBIE.

Students who could not clear the exams can appear for Advanced Supplementary Exams starting on May 22, 2025. Practical exams are scheduled from June 3 to 6. Fees must be paid between April 23 and 30 at the respective colleges.

Short memos are available for download from the Board’s portal starting 5 pm on April 22. Students are advised to keep colour printouts as no physical memos will be issued until the pass certificates are dispatched, said the Board.

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said, “My heartfelt congratulations to all Intermediate students who have passed. I wish all the successful students success in life. On behalf of the Government, I extend warm wishes to the students and their parents.”
The government is continuously working for the development of the education sector. I appreciate the official team for conducting the Intermediate results declaration programme transparently and successfully without any errors, he added.

In Intermediate First Year, 66.89 per cent of students cleared the exams, while 71.37 per cent cleared the second year.

A total of 4,88,430 students appeared for the First Year exams, and in the Second Yea,r 5,08,582 students appeared for the exams.

In Intermediate First Year exams, Medchal emerged as the best-performing district with a pass percentage of 77.91 percentage.

Komram Bheem (Asifabad) followed closely with 70.52 per cent.

Ranga Reddy also made the top three with 70.24 per cent.

Mahbubabad recorded the lowest pass percentage in the state, with just 48.43 per cent.

For Intermediate Second Year exams, Mulugu led the state with an impressive 81.06 per cent pass percentage.

Komram Bheem (Asifabad) maintained its strong performance, securing 80.24 per cent.

Medchal continued to shine with a pass rate of 77.21 per cent.

Lowest Performing District – Second Year: Kamareddy stood at the bottom with a pass percentage of just 56.38 per cent indicating challenges that require immediate academic and administrative attention.

The students who could not appear need not worry as advanced supplementary classes will begin from June 4.
