Krishna District Sports Authority (DSA) Chief Coach K Jhansi Rani has said that the goal
of the summer coaching camps in different sports and game disciplines is to develop outstanding sportspersons. Students should learn at least one sport or game, she suggested.
Krishna DSA organised summer coaching camps which were conducted for one month at the ZPH School grounds in Gannavaram and ended on Wednesday. Chief Coach Jhansi Rani attended the closing function as chief guest and praised the students who underwent coaching in several sports disciplines.
Speaking on the occasion, Jhansi Rani said that the State government was spending crores of rupees for sports and games in the State. Students should utilise the infrastructure facilities provided by the government. Summer coaching camps are really useful for the students from rural areas, she added.
She said that several national and international athletes have got jobs in the Postal Department, Railways, and other departments.
Gannavaram Sarpanch Nidamarthi Sowjanya said that such coaching camps were necessary in rural areas.
Krishna ZP Co Option member Md Gowsani, ZPH School (Boys) Physical Director Dhaniyala Naga Raju, Gannavaram constituency sports coordinator Dasari Sri Harsha, Walkers Association district representatives Srinivasa Rao, Dr Chippada Chandrasekhar Rao, Balakrishna Rao, Prasada Rao and Subba Rao, and others were present.
Later, Jhansi Rani and other guests presented certificates to the participants.
