Going through the motions after higher level intervention

In Andhra Pradesh, it took the hospitalization of over 100 people with diarrhea and intense pressure from Minister Vidadala Rajini, Special CS Krishna Babu and other top officials to wake up officials of the Guntur Municipal Corporation who had remained clueless for over 10 days about the cause of the outbreak. Thanks to reactive measures under watch, the civic officials found out belatedly that certain mineral water plants had supplied contaminated water in the affected areas. Six of those plants were sealed and notices issued to 25 other plants for not maintaining prescribed norms in water quality.
