Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav announced on Thursday that the Balkampet Goddess Yellamma will be crowned with gold. Speaking at the inauguration of shops constructed at the Balkampet temple, the minister said that the gold and silver offered by devotees to the Goddess in the form of mokku (vow) will be used for the crown and other ornaments. A total of 2 kg and 200 grams of gold will be used for this purpose.
Minister Yadav also inspected the multi-level parking works under construction next to the shops and ordered that the work be completed within five months. He said that the construction of the parking lot has been taken up keeping in mind the difficulties faced by devotees who come for a darshan of the Goddess.
The minister also announced that a modern kitchen will be constructed in the temple for preparing prasadam. Additionally, 34 shops have been constructed at a cost of Rs 32 lakh for petty traders who sell coconuts, flowers, and other puja material at the temple. The shops have been allotted to the traders without any rent.
Minister Yadav announced that celestial wedding at the temple will be held on June 20 in a grand manner. Donors and temple committee members participated in the programme, including Regional Commissioner Ramakrishna, Assistant Commissioner Krishna, temple Chairman Saibaba Goud, Corporator Sarala and EO Annapurna.
The announcement of crowning Goddess Yellamma with gold has brought joy to the devotees. The temple has undergone significant development since the formation of Telangana state, and the construction of the multi-level parking lot and the modern kitchen will further enhance the experience of the devotees.
