Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar on Thursday said that the Congress government would respect farmers’ opinions. The government is committed to waive crop loans to help farmers.
Speaking at a meeting, organised by the Basic Agriculture Cooperative Credit Union at Kondurugu under Shadnagar constituency, MLA Shankar highlighted the government’s commitment in waiving farm loans and providing input subsidy under Rythu Bharosa. He criticised the previous government’s lack of transparency in implementing schemes meant for farmers.
“The cooperation of farmers is crucial, and the government will prioritise their needs,” Shankar stated. Farmers voiced their opinions on the necessity of immediate implementation of the loan waiver and suggested that restrictions be imposed to ensure that only farmers are benefited. They also called for prompt support for small farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
The conference concluded with a strong consensus among the attending farmers for immediate government action to support small and marginal farmers and expedite the loan waiver process.
Cooperative Society Assistant Registrar Nagalingachari, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies Saraswathi, PACS Chairman Damodar Reddy, Kondurgu Congress Party President Krishna Reddy, Chaudar Guda Congress Party President Raju, members of the Basic Agricultural Cooperative Society, and farmers from various villages in Kondurgu and Chaudhariguda mandals were present. .
