Governor stresses universal brotherhood

Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan participated in the Christmas celebrations by cutting the cake in the presence of members from the Christian community, officers, and staff members at a function held in Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Sunday.

In his message, Governor Harichandan said that Jesus Christ gave mankind the message of peace, harmony, and universal brotherhood and this is what all of us need to practise in our lives. The Governor said that to be truly happy, we must rise above bigotry and jealousy of others and we must love even those who hate us and love is the only path to peace, freedom, and happiness. He further said that when we replace hate with love, and anger with kindness, we will feel closer to God and notice more peace in our life and when we freely offer forgiveness to others, we can invite more peace and forgiveness into our own lives.

After singing of Christmas carols, Bishop Rajarao gave his message, and members of the Christian community consisting of Pakalapati Prabhakar, Matta Jayakar, Ebenezer and others felicitated the Governor. The Governor in turn presented mementos to the elders from the Christian community, who attended the function.
