‘Govt committed to providing healthcare to all sections of people’

The Congress government is committed to providing free and quality healthcare to all sections of people, said Minister for Health Damodar Raja Narasimha here on Thursday
The Minister inaugurated the first-year MBBS classes at the government medical college in Pilikotyal in the district. e Minister for Endowments Konda Surekha. MP Raghunandan Rao, MLA Madhanapally Rohith Rao, MLC S Subhash Reddy, District Collector Rahul Raj, Additional Collector Venkateshwarlu and Principal Ravinder were present.
During the event, Minister Raja Narasimha emphasised that the government’s goal is to provide free and quality healthcare to every citizen in Telangana.
He stressed the need to ensure that doctors in district hospitals offer 90 per cent of treatment to patients. It would help avoid patients to travel to cities for treatment.  
He also stated that the construction of a 220-bed hospital, nursing college, and paramedical college would be completed by the next academic year.
Minister Surekha urged students to render service to humanity with full respect for the dignity of the profession. She suggested that young doctors provide quality healthcare to patients.
She advised the students to move forward with self-confidence and bring honours to their parents and teachers.
MP Raghunandan Rao mentioned that the Central government has sanctioned many medical colleges and emphasised the need to provide quality healthcare to the poor. He noted that there are 1,07,000 MBBS seats available across the country and requested the state government to provide all necessary facilities for the Medak government medical college and allocate 20 acres of government land for it.
District Collector Rahul Raj expressed happiness over the inauguration of the MBBS classes, emphasising the need to provide excellent services to the community.
He acknowledged the hard work of many who strived for the medical college, stating that their efforts have borne fruit.
