The YSRC has welcomed the Supreme Court issuing a stay on the AP High Court’s directions asking the State government to develop Amaravati’s capital city and capital region within six months.

Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said, “We are committed to three capitals.” He recalled CM Jagan Mohan Reddy saying in the Legislative Assembly that the YSRC government is bound by the agreements made with the farmers and will provide better facilities to them.

Irrigation Minister Ambati Rambabu said that the Supreme Court bench has made it clear that the decision and construction of the capitals is the responsibility of the respective State governments and there should be no interference of courts in the decisions taken by the government and cabinet.

Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy took the decision of decentralisation in accordance with the aspirations of the people. It is welcoming to see the Supreme Court expressing the same view today. The CM has taken the decision of decentralisation after the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh so that similar situations should not be repeated in the future.

Industries Minister Gudivada Amaranath said the comments made during the hearing of the Supreme Court increased the trust in the judicial system. The Minister recalled that the argument in the Supreme Court today has recalled that the Telangana agitation was only for Hyderabad as everybody concentrated on the development in one place, and the rest of the areas suffered. Taking it as an example, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy took the decision of three capitals and decentralization of governance. CM Jagan’s intention was to develop Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema districts along with Amaravati.
